MY STORY
Creative Butterfly came from my lived experience as a creative person who has been through significant challenging events to emerge like a butterfly from it's cocoon.
Having experienced generational trauma through childhood emotional neglect (CEN), emotional and verbal abuse in relationships, miscarriage and advanced stage cancer diagnosis and treatment, life has changed exponentially over the last four years while studying to qualify as an art therapist. All of these experiences have provided an outlook on life that acknowledges the real struggles and possibilities that humans encounter in their lives. This realist outlook allows acknowledgement and acceptance that individuals who are struggling need compassion, support and kindness rather than judgement, shame or guilt from others or themselves.
Some people benefit from having the support of a professional to assist them in managing their stress to get through their challenges. Finding art therapy has been a game changer personally and professionally. It has brought a new found passion for life and a meaningful purpose to support people to find their own.
This is the reason Creative Butterfly Expressive Arts Therapy exists.
